Osprey Public House – Cozy Clayton Dining with Crispy Wings, Prime Rib & Unique Drinks

We went on wing night (Wednesday). The wings did not disappoint. They were nice and crispy. The house drinks were unique and very tasty also. My steak was medium rare as I requested and had a perfect sear on the outside. The presentation was very elegant also.

5 of us arrived on a Thursday night and were seated immediately. There was quite a bit of seating available. The bar area has quite a few TVs, too. They are in the process of switching menus so they were out of a handful of things, but there was still plenty to choose from. They had a lot of specials including a $7 burger! My dad said he really enjoyed the burger which came with fries. I had the Perch Tacos which came with rice and beans. The tacos were delicious and very flavorful. However, the filet of fish in each taco was SMALL. Like, you will not be full after eating them. (At least they were yummy). Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. The waitress was very nice. Our drinks were not refilled super fast but she seemed to be the only waitress working. Overall it was a good experience. I’d definitely go back.

Great hidden gem of a restaurant. Perfect place for lunch/dinner with friends and family. The workers are beyond helpful and personable. I’d definitely come and check this place out when you are in town

I got their Saturday special Prime Rib, and it was amazing. My wife got the fish fry and she also really liked her meal. Our server was excellent, the place (including the bathrooms) was clean, and parking was easy. Thankfully they have a room without TV monitors and loud music. We dined alone in the large quiet and distraction-free room. This place just celebrated its 1st anniversary (congratulations!). We hope that in time they can make the atmosphere a bit warmer and cozy. Softer lighting, curtains, and more decor on the walls might help. Thank you for a delicious night out!

Dinners pricey. We stopped for late lunch. Had their pulled pork, an open face sandwich on toast. Portion size large with coleslaw and french fries. Very good. Had their special Parmesan truffle fries as appetizer. Very good. Very open area, friendly staff.

We finished our tour out of Alexandria Bay and decided the town was too "touristy" to stay for dinner. The Osprey House was close to our campground and we were very happy we stopped! It seemed like the locals dine here. I had the trout special and the fish was cooked perfectly! The wings coming out of the kitchen looked delicious too but we didn't try them.

The drinks, live music, food, atmosphere and attentive staff were on point. We ordered the smash burger and the haddock special and my friend said it was the best haddock he's ever had and also that he "found his new favorite hang out place". Amazing, impressive transformation from the Old Sand Bar and Half Way Chalet.
